Poem of the Day: “Fire Orbs” by Sierra July, Frequent Contributor & Poet of the Week

Songs of Eretz Poetry Review is pleased to present “Fire Orbs” by Sierra July, a Songs of Eretz Frequent Contributor and this week’s Poet of the Week.  A biography of the poet may be found in our “About Our Editor & Frequent Contributors” section.

Fire Orbs
Sierra July

His eyes are suns,
The pupils coal,
Irises invaded by embers,
Sparking, sharp, like knives against flint
Fury, void, flames swim there.

Poet’s Notes: Looking at a picture of the sun conjured up this image. The metaphor “His eyes burned with fury,” also helped.
