Poem of the Day: “Scrap or Feast” by Sierra July, Frequent Contributor & Poet of the Week

Songs of Eretz Poetry Review is pleased to present “Scrap or Feast” by Sierra July, a Songs of Eretz Frequent Contributor and this week’s Poet of the Week.  A biography of Ms. July may be found in our “About Our Editor & Frequent Contributors” section.

Scrap or Feast
Sierra July

Soggy or sunbaked,
Sesame or spice
Sprinkled in sand
Or ocean brine
Bread is bread
In birds’ eyes

Poet’s Notes: I witnessed many a bird fighting for bread, even diving before traffic to snatch it. This is an ode to those birds.
